Mathematics happens to be a challenging career and course to many students. It requires a lot of logical reasoning and computation. Additionally, for one to be good at mathematics, he or he has to have a good grasp of mathematical formulas. That is not all. One must be in a position to use them to solve both simple and complex mathematical equations.

Very few people can manage this. However, one person remains an icon in the field of mathematics. His name is Michael Lacey. The legendary mathematician was born in the United States of America in 1959. He has done a lot of extensive work in this field which has earned him both honor and recognition across the world.

Michael Lacey takes pride in holding a Ph.D. in mathematics. He received this postgraduate qualification from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This certification was granted to him in the year 1987. He did a thesis in the area of probability. Specifically, he worked on Banach Spaces. In this area, he provided a solution in the area iterated logarithm.

This is a very complex area. However, this renowned mathematician managed to give an answer. In his later years, he did a lot of work on probability and harmonic analysis. Most of his findings are still used in many learning institutions across the world.

Working together with Water Phillip, the famous mathematician worked on the central limit theorem. This work was accomplished while he was at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Perhaps due to his numerous findings and insights in mathematics, Michael Lacey has taught at many universities. He has taught at Indiana University. He worked in this academic institution between the years 1989 and 1996. It is at this institution that he received a National Science Foundation Postdoctoral Fellowship. He did a lot of work to advance mathematics which made him be awarded the Salem Prize.

That is not all. After leaving this institution, he became a professor of Mathematics at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has been influential in transforming the lives of many students. Due to his numerous research projects and findings, he has received several awards in his life.
